Fashion has always been more than a profession to me. It is my purpose, my creative voice, and the legacy I am committed to building. I founded Mia Maree with the vision of creating a luxury fashion house where timeless craftsmanship, elevated design, and meaningful storytelling come together to create garments that inspire confidence, celebrate individuality, and leave a lasting impression.

My journey in fashion has been shaped by perseverance, faith, and an unwavering belief that purpose often emerges through life's greatest challenges. Over the years, I have had the privilege of presenting my work on respected fashion stages, including New York Fashion Week, where my designs were recognized for their distinctive aesthetic and craftsmanship. Those experiences strengthened my belief that luxury fashion is built not only through beautiful design, but through discipline, precision, and authenticity.

In 2020, as the world came to a standstill during the COVID-19 pandemic, I made the difficult decision to step away from fashion. Like many others, I faced uncertainty and chose to pause my career while the world adjusted to an unprecedented moment in history.

By early 2022, I knew it was time to return to the work I loved. As I began planning my next chapter, life changed once again. In June 2022, my father, Roosevelt Evans Jr., affectionately known as "Gun Smoke," passed away after his courageous battle with cancer. Before he left us, I made him a promise that I would return to fashion and build the luxury fashion house we had always believed was possible.

That promise never left me.

In mid-2025, I answered that promise by returning to fashion with renewed purpose. It was more than a comeback. It was the beginning of a new chapter built on faith, resilience, and the determination to create something that would honor my father's memory while inspiring others to pursue their own dreams. Later that year, I had the privilege of sharing my entrepreneurial journey on Inside Success, reaffirming my commitment to building a brand rooted in excellence, purpose, and legacy.

Today, I am preparing the debut of the Gun Smoke Collection at Los Angeles Fashion Week in early 2027. More than a runway presentation, the collection is a tribute to my father's legacy and to the promise that inspired my return. Drawing inspiration from the strength, independence, and enduring spirit of the American West, the collection blends luxury craftsmanship with bold femininity and timeless sophistication.

As Founder and Creative Director, I remain personally involved in every stage of the creative process. From concept development and original pattern creation to fabric selection, fittings, and final creative direction, I believe every detail matters. Every garment is thoughtfully designed with intention and constructed with an uncompromising commitment to quality.

Beyond the runway, my vision extends far beyond fashion. I am building a luxury fashion house that creates opportunities, develops emerging talent, and leaves a meaningful impact on the industry. Through initiatives such as the Mia Maree Legacy Fellowship™, I am committed to mentoring the next generation of fashion professionals while fostering a culture of craftsmanship, collaboration, and innovation.

The Foundation

2014-2019

Every legacy begins with a single step. For me, those early years were dedicated to learning, growing, and discovering my voice as a designer.

In 2014, I earned First Place at the Sacramento Hair & Fashion Battle, an achievement that affirmed my passion for fashion and my commitment to excellence. From 2015 through 2017, I continued building the Mia Maree brand by participating in runway, trunk, and fashion shows throughout San Francisco, Oakland, the East Bay, and Sacramento. Each event strengthened my confidence, expanded my network, and refined the design philosophy that continues to shape Mia Maree today.

In 2018, I proudly presented my first independent Mia Maree runway collection, Kiss the Girls, introducing the brand's vision for luxury womenswear. That momentum led to another unforgettable milestone in 2019 when I showcased my collection at New York Fashion Week, where my designs received industry recognition and garments were purchased directly from the runway. Those experiences became the foundation upon which Mia Maree was built.

The Promise

2020-2025

More than a runway presentation, it represents years of perseverance, growth, and faith in the vision that never left my heart.

But this is only the beginning. My vision extends beyond the runway. I am building Mia Maree as a luxury fashion house rooted in timeless craftsmanship, meaningful storytelling, and opportunities that inspire the next generation of fashion professionals. Through every collection, every partnership, and every experience, my goal is to create something that will continue to grow long after the final walk down the runway.

The story of Mia Maree is still being written, and I believe the best chapters are yet to come.
